Begin Within Creations is a reflection of my healing—an offering born from the deepest parts of my journey. I’ve always been someone who noticed the quiet beauty in the world: a pressed flower, the shimmer of a butterfly wing, the way light moves through resin like a memory held still. I started making jewelry over a decade ago, but after a life-altering spinal cord injury, everything changed. I lost my ability to walk—and with it, for a time, my sense of identity.
In the thick of recovery, I returned to creating—not just as a hobby, but as a form of survival. My art became a way to process grief, rediscover beauty, and remind myself of who I still was. What began in pain slowly transformed into purpose.
Today, I pour my heart into each piece—working with real pressed flowers, ethically gathered butterfly wings, natural resins, moss, crystals, and materials gifted by the earth. I make custom memorial jewelry that holds ashes, dried flowers, or fabrics from those we’ve loved and lost. These pieces are sacred to me—tangible reminders that love continues, even in the absence.
Butterflies, especially, carry deep meaning in my life. After my spinal cord injury, I felt trapped in a body that no longer moved freely. But the butterfly reminds me that growth often happens in the dark. Healing isn’t linear. It’s quiet, brutal, miraculous. And sometimes, it gives us wings we never expected.
I’ve been blessed with a miraculous recovery—one that many said wouldn’t happen. I’m now learning to walk for the second time in my life, and I spend over 15 hours a week in physical therapy, building strength, hope, and a new relationship with my body. It’s incredibly hard. Most people will never understand the invisible toll it takes. But I keep showing up—for myself, for my community, and for those still waiting to find their wings.
Alongside my creative work, I’m also a proud member of the Triumph Foundation, where I help support and uplift others living with spinal cord injuries. I mentor, organize events, and advocate for access, representation, and resources within our community. It’s a mission that fuels me daily.
Begin Within is more than a brand—it’s a return. A practice. A reminder that healing begins from within, and that beauty and resilience can coexist.
5% of every purchase supports spinal cord injury research and community healing efforts. Thank you for walking (or wheeling) alongside me. You are part of this unfolding.
I’m Meesh, the heart and hands behind Begin Within Creations. After sustaining a spinal cord injury less than two years ago, I found myself navigating a path of deep healing, rediscovery, and transformation. Art became my medicine — a way to reconnect with myself, with nature, and with the beauty that still lives in every moment.
Through pressed flower jewelry, botanical body art, and symbolic creations like magnetic best friend bracelets, I share not just art, but intention. Each piece is a reflection of resilience, ritual, and the quiet magic of beginning within. This is more than a creative practice — it’s a living expression of hope, softness, and strength.
Each piece begins with presence and purpose. I work with a range of meaningful materials — including pressed florals, real butterfly wings, natural crystals, herbal infusions, resin, gold leaf, and hand-gathered botanicals. Whether I’m preserving wedding flowers, creating symbolic jewelry, or crafting botanical body art, every element is chosen with intention.
My process is slow, sacred, and deeply intuitive. I often work in ritual — setting affirmations, playing healing music, lighting candles, or blending herbs — allowing the energy of the moment to guide each design. I believe that what is made with love holds love, and that handmade pieces carry healing in their very fibers.
From foraged petals to final polish, every creation is an offering: a reflection of nature’s beauty, the spirit of resilience, and the invitation to begin within.
